Basic principles of our education

Preparing children for the future requires a modern approach to education. The private education provided by Interteach is built on the following three pillars:
– Personalised learning
– Multilingual education and global awareness
– Language development

Personalised learning
Personalised learning meets children’s individual needs and gives them the confidence to develop to their full potential. Interteach provides education that keeps pupils motivated and engaged.

A small-scale learning community with different age groups and levels offering personal learning pathways ensures the all-round development of each child. Interteach does not believe in ‘averages’ and we challenge each child to achieve above their potential. We encourage children to self-manage and to take co-ownership of the learning process, while teaching children how to think critically and reflect on their own learning objectives. A rich learning environment with excellent digital teaching materials ensures the right balance between offline and online learning. Children do not only learn from the teacher and the programmes offered, but also benefit from opportunities provided to acquire knowledge and skills through self-experience, investigation and discovery.

Although the learning is personalised, this does not mean that learning is a purely individual activity. Learning with Interteach involves interaction between fellow pupils, teachers, external partners and our instructive learning environment. There is sufficient time and space for pupils to take part in both individual and joint activities.

Lesson in world languages and global awareness
Lessons in world languages and global awareness make children better prepared for the future. Interteach is the only private school where education is provided in English and Spanish as well as in the pupil’s native language. If a pupil’s native language is English or Spanish, they may choose a different language. Research shows that by following lessons in different languages children learn even better. These children gain a better understanding of languages in general and are also better at solving complex problems.

Children can be registered and follow lessons from the age of 4. Language education in particular is very important for children of this age, because it is very easy for young children up to the age of 8 to learn a foreign language. And develop their skills naturally and without conscious effort.

Given the high quality of the lessons taught by the professionals of Interteach day by day, the number of pupils going on to higher education is high, thus facilitating their progression to higher education.

The competence and the teaching skills of the teacher have a major impact on the language development of the children. Interteach (subject) teachers are highly trained professionals who have experience in multilingual teaching environments.

Language development
Interteach offers the choice to attend the education which is customary in your native country, taught by experienced native (subject) teachers, or you can choose the International Baccalaureate Programme (IB), taught by highly experienced educational professionals. Besides IB, Interteach provides a wide range of options in sports, art and culture. We believe it is important to adopt a more explicit focus on language development than is currently the case in mainstream education. By working together closely with sports organisations, cultural institutions and the business community, Interteach is able to offer students a variety of workshops and clinics in music and sports in order to discover and nurture talents to their fullest potential. There is ample evidence that music accelerates brain development in young children, both passive (listening) and active (participating). Sports and physical activity have a positive impact on children’s health and learning achievement. Interteach offers children many possibilities for language development across the whole spectrum of education.
